Yes! Today the transit strike ended.

I went to work today. It was mostly a waste of time, but there were two really nice surprises instore for me.

I boarded the LIRR, very cranky. It's making me super extra cranky this week. I admit it. Got to the city, came to work at around 11. There was no one on my floor but me and Larry, and an intern Sam. Nothing to do, so I got the plants ready for our holiday break (won't be back in the office until 1/3/06). Yes, a very stimulating day.

By 1PM I was beyond ready to leave and come on home. But then the mail came. 2 packages. Both for me!! One was a 1 LB bar of milk and dark chocolate that says "thank u" on it from a pair of producers I like alot. The other was a gorgeous, giftwrapped suede photo album from Pablo in California! Pablo is a total sweetheart and it made me so happy to have a really classy photo album for our newly expanding family!!

Made me really happy.

But this did not. I was reading through blogs and found an entry in Margaret Cho's about a police office in Jersey who's dying of cancer. She's been on the force for 23 years and the board refuses to allow her female lover to receive her pension. Read about it here - http://www.margaretcho.com/blog/justiceforlaurelhester.htm

Very upsetting stuff.

That's all for now. I'm on the hunt for "Life Of Brian". I need to see that today!

I wish someone was running a petition online for her. She would have hundreds of thousands of supporters!

Olivia - I agree, and I'm working on it. I'm going to check with another site to see if they've started one. If they haven't, I'll see what I can do. I think these bastards should know they can't remain in the dark ages anymore.
