The Transit Strike.

Ridiculous people. Can I just tell you how uncomfortably disgusting it is to be crammed onto the Long Island Railroad with literally thousands of EXTRA riders (and that's assuming you can actually FIT onto the train) and then have to stand motionless for the entire ride while you're pregnant? Well, it ain't fun. So I stayed home today. Yesterday we left late in the morning hoping to avoid most of the crowd. It worked. We had seats and everything was fine until we got to Jamaica. That's where thousands crammed onto the train for a ride into the city. They told us that there was a line 5 blocks long just to buy tickets for these trains. I felt so bad for these people. It's ridiculous.

I decided to leave early yesterday, fearing the worst. I left work at 3 to catch a 3:30 train home. I work less than 10 minutes away from the station. I was told that only the people who are going to Jamaica could enter Penn from the front. I had to go downstairs, walk all the way back to the 8th Avenue/33rd Street exit. And from there, I had to LEAVE Penn Station, and get on a fucking line to wait to use my $200 monthly ticket.

I not only missed my train, but I missed the one AFTER that one too.

Roger Toussaint sucks, and I despise him. These transit workers have no right to strike -- they have such great benefits! So what newer workers have to pay into their pension funds??? I don't have a pension fund at all anymore. That was taken away from me, as well as my raises for the last two years, as well as my bonuses. So what? I'm happy to contribute to my 401K. I'm lucky to have the opportunity! He has the nerve to compare this situation to Rosa Parks. SHE was a hero, not a greedy bastard who inconvenienced thousands of people and put lives at risks.

There are elderly people who come down from Harlem to get treatments in various hospitals. They don't have money for price gouging taxi drivers. They don't have any options. A gentleman missed his brother's funeral yesterday because he couldn't get there on time.

This to me is like cops or firemen or sanitation workers striking - just should never happen. They better go back to work tomorrow. That's all I have to say.

Okay, enough griping.

I went to the doctor on Monday. We got to see the baby!! And the baby was stretching and moving and looks GREAT!! I am 9 weeks pregnant. The progesterone has done exactly what it was meant to do. The baby was perfectly comfortable and NOT struggling anymore.

I go back on January 16.

That's all for today! See you all soon.
